I hear it every time I go out now: No one I know pays for sex. Truth is they don't trust you enough to tell you. Getting an actual headcount is hard, but let's start at the top: In his book The Sky's the Limit (getting lots of mileage this Spitzerweek), Russ Alan Prince conducted a survey of 661 private-jet owners. 34 percent of those men had paid for sex, and so had 20 percent of the women. That's 1 in 3 men, and 1 in 5 women. I've been calling the local airports without luck this morning, so maybe you can help: How many private jets are there in the Valley?
