The always strange looking Vince Burlapp at the always blogasmic The Hollywood Extra (as well as the off-road-loving boys at the 4WheelsBlog have a scan up of what they're claiming is the 2010 Nissan 370Z. The shot looks very similar to the shots we've already seen out of Japan's Best Car magazine of the replacement for the Nissan 350Z.
While we don't know anything more than the one picture we've got, we're always happy to see new proof of the new 3.7-liter VQ37VHR-powered pudding from the Japanese side of Carlos Ghosn's globe-spanning automotive empire. We're just hoping the rumors we'll be seeing it live at the LA Auto Show later this year are true. (Hat tip to Scoobie!) [The Hollywood Extra, 4WheelsBlog]

The back kind of caught me off guard. Ill reserve my opinion until I see a better picture.
The way its sloped reminds me of the original 240Z. Im not sure if this works styling wise.
Make it so.
I LOVE IT. Roofline slopes very GTR-like.
Might not want to tag this LA Auto Show 2007.
I thought I saw this on the cover of the latest issue of C&D? Or was that a rendering?
@Duphman2: Where are ze pics of ze back? I see nothing.
The 350Z is too chunky, adding some swoops and curves is a good idea.
I can't believe they're retaining that stuck-on door handle. Reminds me of that mole on Kevin Arnold's face in the Austin Powers movie.
Moleymoleymoleymoleymoley
Bumblebee beat me to the door handle comment. Those handles were always a turn off for me with the 350Z...
Also, I'm not sure where Nissan is going with taking a chunk out of the headlights, but I wish they'd stop it.
Whats the different? A bigger inlet up front that makes it look like a slack-jawed catfish, a silly indentation into the headlights, and possibly bigger fender flairs out back?
meh... if it brings the price of an '04 Track 350 to ridiculously low prices I don't care.
@Nayrlladnar: I assume its part of their "liquid motion" movement that they started with the 09 Maxima. Don't worry, all the Z guys hate em' too.
@DomZ: hahah right? I was about to say the same thing...
@FightingChance: I concur, new lines look more sweeping & elegant. prolly a lower Cd too!
If it's accurate, it looks way better than the 350Z.
I really liked the Z when it came out. It had classic lines, was RWD and had a decent motor. I'll damned if it didn't get "old" quickly, though. Maybe it was just the fact that everybody had one, I don't know. What I do know is this car will be popular in 15-20 years time. Future classic in the 240z sense, I'm thinking.
Looks like a futuristic 240z widebody. I was a little hesitant about the headlight treatment when I first saw it, but in these shots it works well. As the Woz would say "It is AWESOME."
+ Watch video
@Gerard Drewpardieu: If you look you can see that the roofline and the trunk meld together like the 240Z. Im guessing Nissan is going for a more retro look, kinda of like what they did with the GT-R's kink and roofline when compared to the 79 Skyline coupe. Its better than the bubble butt.
blah, *unless* it brings price down... you guys ever gonna implement an edit function?
Nice. I would have liked a little more retro styling on the front of the car.
I want them to bring back the round headlights.
when i first looked i was thinking Bricklin - the 350 could use some work design wise - it looks unfinished and this is a good start
i don't like this new design...
i LOVE it.
(save for the f'in' headlights, again!)
This could work. At first, I wasn't sure there was enough difference from the last one to warrant comment, but I'm seeing some 240z in the greenhouse and the headlights aren't a deal-breaker. Gotta make some headway against the G37, ya know.
the front fascia looks less porshe, but now with more ferrari attitude. Not really feeling the rear quarter windows...
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE... that rear quarter window line is straight up 240Z... I just blew my wad.
That rear fender flare is over-the-top beautiful. Love rear quarter window too.
Agreed. Yet, I dont quite know how I feel about the new headlight direction; those of the new maxima are downright unacceptable, but these... ehhh I just cant decide. They do somewhat accentuate the attractive body lines.
This could be very nice. Can't tell much from the one picture but it looks sharper and less jellybeany.
@Hoser Dave: I think they're all renderings. I have the latest issue as well.
those lights r directly off the all new maxima... & that engine is from the all new Infinity G37... a bit of curves & fatter wheel arches... & voi-la, a so-called "all new" model!
i really hope its more fun to drive & regains the "Z" line spirit!
Hopefully they can find a way to make the headlights truly accentuate the design of the car.... as in the maxima's case, the headlights look like they were drawn by a teenager trying to look different - just to look different (as opposed to looking different for a specific and gratifying perspective of design)
People bust on the headlights of the new maxima, but see them in person and I think you'll be cool with em...as for the Z, I cannot confirm or deny these photos are correct....nuff said
Fix the headlamps please.
I don't really care much one way or the other about the headlamps, but oh my god, so much more Z-ish than the current model, and whoever figured out that character line that runs into the beltline needs to be given a medal.
The 370Z and G-37 are just nissan's attempt to recoupe costs for developing the skyline motor. The raise in price is interesting since Nissan said in the past that turbo 4 RWD was also in the works. This hole in the pricing leaves room for a turbo four in the line-up. Finally another 240sx
Yeah Nissan. Just design some new headlamps instead of this "eyelash" look.
Looks like they are going more towards the original 350z concept from years ago. That had a more 240z look to it also.
Not bad but as someone else said i'd love to see the round headlights come back. But then I think of the 3rd gen Eclipse and I don't know.
